Desktop app

Next Level in its own window, with the Observer built in: the tray companion that keeps Working Now and your timesheet honest lives inside this app (open it from the tray icon's Observer panel). Windows 10/11. Observing is off until you turn it on; here is exactly what it sends and what never leaves your machine.

Version 1.4.3. From 1.4.0 the app updates itself: a newer version shows up in the Observer panel with one button, so this is the last download you make by hand. The panel also shows the version it is running.

Windows will show a "protected your PC" notice while our test builds are unsigned: choose More info, then Run anyway.

Phone and tablet

No store needed. Open usenextlevel.app in your browser, then:

• iPhone / iPad: Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
• Android: browser menu, then Install app.

Desktop Chrome and Edge can install it too, look for the install icon in the address bar.

Browser bridge (Chrome)

Optional, and it makes the Observer noticeably better: without it the Observer sees a browser window as one thing, and with it, it knows which site you are actually on. Install the desktop app first, this pairs with it.

1. Unzip it somewhere you will not delete by accident, it runs from that folder.
2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode, top right.
3. Load unpacked, then pick the unzipped folder.
4. In the desktop app, open the Observer panel from the tray icon, press Copy key under Browser bridge, and paste it into the extension's options. The key shows only there, never on the website, and it is yours alone: every machine has its own, so there is nothing to share around.

Version 0.7.2. The Observer panel says when the one you run is behind: unzip the new one over the old folder, then press its reload arrow in chrome://extensions.

Chrome will remind you about developer-mode extensions now and then, which is Chrome being careful about anything not installed from its store. It is on the way there.

Already included in the desktop app above, download this only if you want the tray companion without the full desktop app. Reads locally, shares only conclusions; team members only.
